Why Mooloo Farm?
In July 2025, Debbie and Noel Granshaw hosted their first Sunflower Day on Mooloo Farm, in support of Little Haven Palliative Care and Supporting Chemotherapy in Cooloola. Having previously grown sunflowers on a property in Mothar Mountain and sharing a long-term association with these charities, Sue reached out to Debbie to offer a yoga session for that first event. It was such an uplifting day in the country.
When looking for a location for Wuthering Heights Movement Experience, Sue couldn’t help but imagine how incredible it would be to twirl in unique splashes of red surrounded by rolling green hills and vibrant yellow sunflowers. Sue met with Debbie earlier this year, and now it is only weeks away from making that vision reality.
Mooloo Farming Beef is a beef enterprise that uses regenerative farming practices to improve soil health and biodiversity. Debbie and Noel include sunflower seeds in their winter field mix to enhance the land, which is how their Sunflower Day came to be.
Why July?
Combining Sunflower Day weekend with the movement experience is a natural fit. The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever events are held globally in July to honour the shared birthday of Emily Brontë (30 July 1818) and Kate Bush (30 July 1958).
The Story Behind the Twirl
This global tradition began in 2013 by Shambush in the UK and has since become an annual event called The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever. It reenacts Kate Bush’s 1978 iconic music video with people all over the world coming together in red to channel their Cathy Energy – the spirited heroine of Emily Brontë’s classic novel.
Sue’s inspiration was sparked while visiting a friend in Lennox Head. When seeing the pure joy of their local Wuthering Heights version it was clear she had to bring it to Gympie.
We gather in honour of Kate and Emily for the simple pleasure of moving together in fresh air and having a laugh. The goal isn’t perfection; it’s vibrant diversity and creative flair.
